About Jen:

Adolescence and young adulthood are periods of profound change, marked by questions of identity, belonging, relationships, and the pressures of navigating an increasingly complex world. I work with teens and young adults to help them make sense of themselves and their experiences in a space where they feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. Having spent years working closely with adolescents and their families, I have seen firsthand how much young people carry and how transformative it can be to have someone who listens without prescribing how they should feel or who they should become.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding. I help clients explore the experiences and patterns shaping their lives, strengthen emotional regulation and communication, establish healthy boundaries, develop practical coping strategies, and move toward a greater sense of self-understanding and agency. I have experience supporting young people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, family conflict, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, identity development, sexual health, and school-related stress. I also work with families seeking to improve parent-teen communication, navigate conflict, and foster healthier relationships.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master of Social Work from Dominican University and a Bachelor of Science in Social and Human Services from Lake Superior State University. My clinical approach integrates person-centered, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, and interpersonal therapies with mindfulness, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care. Above all, I strive to build a therapeutic relationship where clients feel empowered to speak honestly, approach difficult experiences with curiosity, and develop the insight and skills to navigate life on their own terms. Therapy is not about telling someone how to live; it is about helping them better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and discover a path forward that feels authentic to who they are and who they hope to become.

Outside of work, I love spending time in nature, being with family and friends, and enjoying the simple things that bring people together. I’m always up for a good board game or a scary movie, and I’m a proud Detroit Lions fan who loves cheering on the team.
